Welcome to The Portfield School

Thank you for visiting our website, welcome!

The Portfield School is a long-established special school in Christchurch for children aged 3-19 who hold an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (ASD). They may also have many associated conditions or disabilities. Every child has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

We believe that if children are happy and able to develop self-confidence good things will follow.

We maintain small class sizes so that we have the flexibility to support children’s learning according to their strengths, interests and challenges.

Positive support (PBS) underpins everyday life at school where children are encouraged and motivated to achieve.

Alongside curriculum subjects, we offer an enrichment programme which includes music, outdoor sports, water sports & safety and our popular Forest School.

Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) works closely with teaching classrooms to ensure the learning journey is underpinned by expert clinical practice.

The overriding ethos of our school is to create an environment that is inclusive, aspirational and fun.
